Maiden Tower is a monument in the city of Baku, Azerbaijan. It is a 12th-century tower that stands at a height of 29.5 metres and is covered by various legends and mysteries. Those legends and mysteries have seen the monument become a national landmark that features on bank notes and is known to many around the world. The tower is currently used to house a museum, it is the home of a museum which presents the story of the historical evolution of the Baku city. The rooftop of the tower provides views over the city’s old town.
The monument is situated in the Old City area of Baku. You can get there by taking the 5, 18 or 88 buses to ‘Puppet Theatre’ which is a short walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum at the tower is open daily 9am-6pm. Admission is set at 2AZN.
