Mahane Yehuda Market is a market located in the city of Jerusalem, Israel. The market was established in the late 19th century, it was once completely open air but is now a partially covered market. Local traders sell fresh food, clothes and other goods at the market. It is the place to go in the city to experience local culture and trade. In recent times the market has expanded with restaurants and cafes with live music providing a nightlife at the market.
Getting there
The market is a 10-15 minute walk away from the ‘Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon’ train station. The 18, 25, 32, 45, 65, 74 and 75 buses all stop close to the market.
Opening Times and Admission
The market is open daily, 7am-12.30am except for Fridays when it closes at 4.30pm and Saturdays when it opens later at 8.30am. The stalls at the markets are only open for a certain period in those times, mainly earlier on. Entrance to the market is free.
