General Information
The M Shed is a Museum in Bristol, England. The museum gets its name from how different buildings were named in the port. The museum's collection tells the story of Bristol and its history in regards to the slave trade, transport, people and arts. The museum has a collection of over 3000 items. The museum is a fairly new addition to the city, it opened in 2011. The museum is split into three different sections Bristol Places, Bristol People and Bristol Life. It is well worth a visit to learn about the history of the city.
Getting there
The museum is situated at Bristol Harbour. If travelling by car, the best place to park is ‘The Grove Car Park’ which is a short walk away. The A1 and M2 buses stop close by at ‘Wapping Wharf’.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open six days a week, Tuesday to Sunday 10am-5pm. Entry to the M Shed is free.
