General Information
The London Eye is located within close proximity to the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben. The Eye is a giant Ferris wheel which was opened in 2000 to offer the public elevated views over the United Kingdom’s capital city. The eye is Europe’s largest Ferris wheel at 443 feet tall, it was previously the highest observation deck in London until The Shard was opened. It is still currently the most visited observation deck in London, as for a small fee you can view most of the capital city from its observation decks; seeing sights from an aerial perspective.
Getting there
It is located on the south bank of the River Thames and is situated between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge. It is easily accessible by the London Tube network with Waterloo being the closest stop and also accessible by bus services.
Opening Times and Admission
The London Eye is open daily throughout the year, 11am-6pm. The standard rate for a ticket for the eye is £22. Other packages are available such as the champagne experience and the fast track ticket.
For me its a little expensive but its priced on demand and the eye is one of the most popular observation decks in the city, great views it offers over parliament and the thames but much more impressive decks and sights in the city.
