Liseberg is an amusement park in the Swedish city of Gothenburg. The amusement park opened in 1923 and is operated by Liseberg AB. The park was opened as a place for entertainment for the people of the city. Over the years it got bigger and better in terms of rides and attractions and it has been for a long while one of the most visited places in the city. The park currently has more than 30 different rides, one of which is the wooden roller coaster ‘Balder’ which is rated as one of the best wooden roller coasters in the world. The park has a bit of something for everyone with a children's area filled with rides.
The park is situated just to the south of the city centre. You can get there by taking the train to ‘Liseberg’. The 5 and 6 trams also travel to ‘Liseberg’. The 50, 52, 100, 101, 102, 120, 186, 300, 330, and 512 buses all stop a short walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
The amusement park is open from the last week in April till September, opening and closing times vary depending on the day and should be checked in advance. The amusement park also opens for seasonal events such as Halloween.
