General Information

Las Ventas is a bullring in the city of Madrid, Spain.  The bullring was opened in 1931 and has a capacity of 25,000 spectators. The bullring was designed by the architect José Espeliú to a Moorish style. The bullring is also used for other events with concerts and other sporting events being held in the arena.

Getting there

To get to Las Ventas take the subway system with either line 2 or 5 accessing the closest station to the bullring, which is ‘Ventas’. Otherwise use the bus system with 12, 21, 38, 53, 106, 110, 146 all accessing Las Ventas.

Opening Times and Admission

Bullfighting operates in a season which starts in March and ends in October. Bullfights are held on a sunday at Las Ventas and on public holidays. A bullfight is held everyday during fiestas. If you want to attend the bullfight you can buy tickets from the ticket office and these are sold at various prices based on closeness to the front and whether the seats are shaded or not. You can also take a tour around the bullring on non event days these tours are organised at the ticket office.
