Johannesburg Botanical Garden is a botanical garden located in Johannesburg, South Africa. The botanical garden was created in 1968, being expanded from a rose garden to a 200-acre extensive botanical garden. The garden features many different plant species separated by theme or by plant group. It is a beautiful place in Johannesburg and offers a colourful setting in the city. The garden is a great place to go to learn about different plant species. Its Rose Garden that contains over 10,000 roses is recognised as one of the highlights of the garden.
Getting there
The garden is situated to the north of the city centre of Johannesburg. You can get to the botanical garden by taking the C4 bus.
Opening Times and Admission
The garden is open to visitors daily, 6am-6pm. Entrance to the botanical garden is free. The garden has its own restaurant that is open to visitors.
