General Information
Inverness Museum and Art Gallery is a museum and art gallery in Inverness, Scotland. Originally established in 1881, the museum didn't move to its current purpose-built home until 1963. Its current home has been recently redeveloped in order to display more of the museum's collection. The collection of the museum is extensive and focuses on the highlands, presenting history and heritage.
Getting there
The museum is situated in the city centre. It is a five-minute walk away from ‘Inverness’ train station. The 7, 14, 16, 142 and 144 buses all stop outside the museum.
Opening Times and Admission
In the summer (April to October), the museum is open 10am-5pm Tuesday to Saturday. In the winter (November to March) the museum is open Tuesday to Thursday 12pm-4pm and Friday and Saturday 11am-4pm. Sundays and Mondays are weekly days of closure. Admission is free.
