Hősök tere is a major square in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The square has over the years been an important part of Hungarian history, with many major speeches held there. It is also known for its iconic statues and monuments including the Seven Chieftains of the Magyars. The main monument in the square is the Millenium Monument which is a memorial to commemorate the Hungarian conquest of the Carpathian Basin. The square today is still used for some seasonal events but is mainly a meeting place for people in the city.
The square is not far away from the thermal baths and you can get there on the metro by getting off at the ‘Széchenyi Medicinal Bath’ stop on the M1 metro line. The square is a 10-minute walk away from the centre of the city.
