One of the most popular sights in Los Angeles, USA, is the Hollywood Walk of Fame which is a sidewalk consisting of 2600 stars that each represent a famous person, it is situated on Hollywood Boulevard. The stars are permanent monuments to celebrate the person's achievements in the entertainment industry, they include actors, musicians, directors, producers and fictional characters. Construction of the walk began in 1958, the walk is added to and looked after by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
The walk of fame is situated on Hollywood Boulevard. By metro, take the red line and get off at Hollywood Vine. By bus, take the 212/312, 217 or 222 which travel to Hollywood Boulevard.
Opening Times and Admission
The walk is situated on a public street. You can walk along the street at any time of any day. The sidewalks can become busy with people having photos with their favourite stars.
