General Information
High Museum of Art is an art museum situated in Atlanta, USA. The museum was established in 1905 and was housed in a former family home from 1926 until a purpose-built building was opened in 1983. The all white purpose built building has been extended since to show more of the museum's extensive art collection. The permanent collection on show at the museum consists of around 15,000 pieces of art that covers African Art, American Art, decorative arts and design, European art, folk and self-taught art, Modern and Contemporary art, and photography. The museum also has many temporary exhibitions on display throughout the year.
Getting there
The closest metro station to the museum is the ‘Arts Center’ stop on the Gold and Red lines. The 37 and 110 buses stop outside of the museum.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open six days of the week, Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm; Monday is a weekly day of closure. General admission to the museum is set at 14.50$.
