General Information
The Heineken Experience is essentially a museum for alcoholic beverage brand Heineken, situated at its first brewery in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. The brewery was built and opened in 1867 and served as the main brewery till 1988 when the company moved to a larger production plant. Shortly after the production moved to the new plant, the old brewery was opened to the public to tour. Today the tour runs as the ‘Heineken Experience’ and allows visitors to learn about the production process of the pilsner. It is one of Amsterdam’s most visited attractions.
Getting there
To get there take the tram to ‘Stadhouderskade’ stop, the number 16, 24, 25 all travel to the stop. The museum is accessible on foot from most of Amsterdam’s sights.
Opening Times and Admission
The experience runs every day, with opening hours set at 10:30am-7.30pm Monday to Thursday and Friday to Sunday 10:30am-9pm. Last admission to the museum is two hours before closing. The tour is self-guided and all descriptions are given in English. At the end of the tour, you can enjoy a Heineken beverage. Minors are allowed on the tour but only accompanied by an adult, they will not be served any alcohol.
Was good to see where local people have worked for many years brewing this beverage of Amsterdam which is a world wide beer. Really in depth tour and many opportunities available to drink the beer.
