General Information

Hamburg Dungeon is a museum/tourist attraction that provides information into Hamburg’s dark history. The dungeon provides an actor led interactive experience of the dark days of the city such as the Great Fire of Hamburg, the plague in Hamburg, Napoleonic invasion, flooding of the city and much more.  The dungeon is part of a chain owned experience built by company Merlin Entertainment. Hamburg Dungeon opened in 2000.

Getting there

The dungeon is accessible by Hamburg’s public transport system. Take the U-Bahn to either ‘Baumwall’ or ‘Überseequartier’, which are both a few minutes walk away. Take the S-Bahn to ‘Stadthausbrücke’ station which is also a couple of minutes walk away. If travelling by car, note that parking is limited.

Opening Times and Admission

The dungeon is open seven days a week, from 10am-5pm. Tours last 90 minutes and leave every few minutes. The tours cost different prices depending on the language, English tours are 19 euros for adults, tours in German are 18 euros. You can book in advance online or buy on the day.
