The Grand Bazaar is a market in Istanbul, Turkey. It is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world. The market was established in 1455 and has since grown to the market of today. The market includes 61 covered streets that contain 4,000 shops. It is a great place to experience Turkish culture and trade. The shops cover a wide range of products which include Turkish crafts, Turkish food, clothing and much more.
The closest tram stop is ‘Beyazit’ on tram line T1 which is a minute walk away from the market. The 35A, 36, 38, 46, 82 and 90 buses also travel to ‘Beyazit’.
Opening Times and Admission
The market is open six days a week from early till late with Sundays being its only day of closure. The market is free to enter. Traders will normally be open to price negotiations on their products.
