General Information
Gothenburg Opera House is an opera house theatre situated in Gothenburg, Sweden. The theatre was opened in 1994, it is a Post-Modernist building that was designed by architect Jan Izikowitz. The architecture of the building is interesting, with modern techniques that complement the theme of the local area. The house itself is of a Classical style with a seating capacity of 1,301 seats, it is used for ballet, opera and musical shows.
Getting there
The theatre is situated on the harbour. You can get there by taking the 241, Rosa X and Rod X buses to ‘Operan’. The 5 and 10 trams stop a few minutes walk away at ‘Lilla Bommen’.
