Located to the south of the city centre of Bologna, Italy is the Giardini Margherita park. The park was created on the order of the city and designed by Ernesto Balbo Bertone di Sambuy, it opened in 1879. The park was created to resemble an English landscape garden. The park covers 26 hectares and is the largest park in the city. Its open green spaces make it the perfect place for an afternoon picnic.
The park is situated to the south of the city centre, it is within walking distance of most of the sights of the city. You can also take the bus there, the 16, 33, 39 and 51 all stop at the park.

The park is a public park, it is free to enter and is open at all hours every day throughout the year.
