General Information
The Galleria dell’Accademia is an art museum located in Florence, Italy. The museum is particularly well known due to it having the original ‘David’ Michelangelo sculpture, amongst other sculptures. As well as sculptures the museum displays a sizable collection of paintings from Florentine artists, which are mainly from the 14th-17th century. The museum was established in 1784.
Getting there
The museum is a short walk away from the central transport hub of Florence. You can get a taxi there from most parts of Florence if walking is not for you.
Opening Times and Admission
The Galleria dell’Accademia is open Tuesday to Sunday 8.15am-6.15pm with entry set at 8 euros. Mondays are a weekly day of closure.
