General Information
Frida Kahlo Museum (The Blue House) is a house museum and art museum dedicated to Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, it is located in Mexico City, Mexico. The museum is a house museum as it is the house where Kahlo grew up and lived for many years, she also died at the house. It was donated to the city in her husband's will with the expectation that it would be turned into a museum to celebrate his wife's life and art. The house which is painted blue contains an art collection that includes many of Frida Kahlo's works. The museum is a celebration of Kahlo’s life.
Getting there
The museum is located in the Del Carmen area of Mexico City. You can get there by taking metro line 3 to ‘Eje Central’ which is a 5-10 minute walk from the museum. The 200 bus also stops a short walk away.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is open six days of the week, 10am-5pm Tuesday to Sunday with Mondays being a weekly day of closure. General admission is set at 230MXN.
