Frankfurt Zoological Garden is a zoo in Frankfurt, Germany. The zoo was founded in 1858 by the Frankfurt Zoological Society who ran the zoo up until World War I when it was taken over by the city council who ran the zoo up until it was given back to the Frankfurt Zoological society in 1950. The zoo is the home to more than 4,500 animals that represent over 510 different species.
The zoo is situated east of the city centre. You can get there by taking the U-Bahn U6 or U7 lines to the ‘Zoo’ stop. The 14 tram also stops at the zoo.
Opening Times and Admission
The zoo is open daily 9am-5pm. Admission is set at 12 euros for adults and 6 euros for children.
