The Franciscan Monastery situated on a cove in the Hvar Town area of the Croatian island of Hvar is a 15th-century monastery. The monastery became a retreat for visiting sailors over the years, mainly due to its close proximity to the sea. It now houses a large collection of valuable coins, manuscripts, paintings and incunabula. The church is dedicated to Our Lady of Mercy. Its elegant bell tower was built in the 16th century.
The monastery is pretty easy to access from Hvar Town, it's fairly unmissable if walking along the seafront.
Opening Times and Admission
The monastery is open 9am-3pm and 5 pm to 7 pm Monday to Saturday and it welcomes visitors in to see its collection of artefacts for an entry price of 30KN.
