The Discovery Museum is situated in Newcastle, it is a museum of science and local history. The museum was established in 1934 but didn't move to its current location at Blandford House until the museum's collection outgrew its old location in size in 1978. The museum shows a variety of objects from local history, it displays a few of the early light bulbs which were invented on Tyneside.
The museum is situated a five-minute walk away from Newcastle Central train and bus stations, the museum is signposted along the walk.
Opening Times and Admission
Entry to the museum is free of charge but donations are welcomed. The museum is open seven days a week 10am-4pm, except for Saturdays and Sundays when the museum opens later at 11 am.
