Devin Castle is a castle in Devin, which is a borough of Bratislava, Slovakia. The castle was built on a cliff which overlooks the Danube river which was an important trade route and the Morava River. The castle dates back to the 9th century and has been extended multiple times since then by the Bronze and Iron Ages and also the Celts and Romans. The castle is mainly in ruin today, but it is a great place to visit for a feel of history.
Devin is situated to the west of Bratislava city centre. You can get there by taking the 28 bus to Devin from the city centre.
Opening Times and Admission
The castle is open to visitors daily, 10am-6pm in the summer months and 10am-5pm in the winter months. Admission is set at 5 euros.
