General Information
Checkpoint Charlie was a crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War in Germany. The checkpoint was a guard house that was used to filter cars and pedestrians crossing from either side of the wall. The checkpoint had a famous standoff on the location between Soviet and US tanks. Today, the original checkpoint is housed in a museum. On the street where it once stood is a replica, the street has been narrowed and resurfaced in a rejuvenation of the area.
