The Botanischer Garten München-Nymphenburg is a botanical garden and arboretum situated in Munich, Germany. The garden was first established in 1809 but it moved to the site it is situated today in 1914. The beautiful gardens contain over 14,000 species of plant that covers 18 hectares. The gardens contain plants from most areas of the world. Although the garden is wonderful to look at it also serves other purposes such as educating local students on plant life and also preserving rare plants and bee species. The garden provides a relaxed day out for young and old.
The garden is situated in the Nymphenburg area on the outskirts of Munich. To get there take the tram number 17 or the bus number 143 from Munich city centre.
Opening Times and Admission
The garden is open daily, 9am-6pm. Admission is set at 4.50 euros for adults with concessions entering for 3 euros. Guided tours run at the garden every 2nd and 4th Sunday each month at no additional fee.
