General Information
Bosphorus Bridge (15 July Martyrs Bridge) is a suspension bridge that spans the Bosphorus Strait, it is situated in Istanbul, Turkey. The bridge connects Europe with Asia. The bridge is a gravity-anchored suspension bridge with steel towers and inclined hangers. The bridge, which was opened in 1973 has a length of 1,560m. The bridge was designed by architects Sir Gilbert Roberts and William Brown. The bridge has eight lanes that carry vehicles across the Bosphorus.
Getting there
You can get to the bridge area by taking any of the following buses: 15, 22, 25, 40, 42, 158.
Opening Times and Admission
You can only cross the bridge in a vehicle, there is a toll on the Asia side of the bridge only. You can see the bridge from numerous vantage points in Istanbul both in the daytime and at night when the bridge is lit up with LED lights.
