General Information
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery also referred to as BM&AG is a museum and art gallery in Birmingham, England. The museum and gallery display fine art, ceramics, jewellery, natural history and local industrial history; it is thought to have 800,000 objects in its collection. The museum was established in the 19th century though it didn't move to its current home till much later.
Getting there
The closest bus stops to the museum are for buses 9, X10, 82, 87, 89, 120, 127 and 128 but with the museum being in the city centre any bus heading to the city centre should stop within a walkable distance. The closest train station is ‘Birmingham New Street’.
Opening Times and Admission
The museum is free to enter for visitors. It is open every day of the week from 10am-5pm except for Fridays when the museum opens half an hour later than usual. The museum does have tour guides, although these are only free to members. Normal museum rules exist, with bag searches to be expected upon entry.
