General Information
Beihai Park is a public park and a former imperial garden that is situated in Beijing, China. The park was first created in 1150 as an imperial garden and was modernised and made into a public park in 1925. The park has a total area of 171 acres, half of that is covered by a lake which has an island in the middle named Jade Flower Island. The gardens and the historically important structures in the park are a fine example of Chinese architecture and make for a beautiful place to explore.
Getting there
By subway, take line 6 to ‘Beihai Bei Station’ which is a short walk away from the park. By bus, take bus 5, 101, 103, 109, 124 or 128 and get off at ‘Beihai Station’.
Opening Times and Admission
The park is open daily, 6.30am-9pm April to October and 6.30am-8pm November to March. Entrance to the park is set at 10CNY April to October and 5CNY November to March.
