General Information
The Basilica of Begona is a Roman Catholic basilica situated in Bilbao, Spain. The basilica dates back to the 16th century, it was built to a Gothic style with some Renaissance detailing. The building was erected using mainly limestone. It is the place to go for major religious festivals in the city with many worshipers attending.
Getting there
The basilica is situated in the Begona area of Bilbao. If travelling on the underground, get off at ‘Santutxu’ which is a short walk away. The closest bus stop is 200 metres away, the A3224, A3631, A3632, A3911, A3912, A3917 and A3925 all stop there.
Opening Times and Admission
The basilica is open for the public to visit on weekdays between 9.30am-1.30pm and 4.30pm-8.30pm.
