General Information
The Bärengraben (Bear Pit) is a bear enclosure situated in the Swiss capital city, Bern. The bear enclosure has operated in the city since the mid 19th century. The bear is seen as a symbol of the city and therefore the bear pit is a landmark. Over the years the bear pit has improved and the living conditions for the bears has been raised to replicate their natural habitat to a tee.
Getting there
The bear pit is situated on the edge of the city centre. The 12 and M3 buses both stop at the enclosure.
Opening Times and Admission
The bear park is free to visit. It is best to visit the park in daylight hours.
