General Information
The oldest park in Auckland, New Zealand, and one of the most frequented is the Auckland Domain. The park was established in the 1840s and covers 185 acres of land. With the botanical gardens and the War Memorial Museum in its grounds, the park is one of the more popular places in the city. Its landscape is beautiful, with large open green areas. Volcanic activity thousands of years ago is said to have formed the land the park sits on. The park is a great place for a relaxing stroll or a picnic with the family.
Getting there
The park is situated in the city centre. It is right next to ‘Parnell’ train station. The 70, 75, 866 and 966 buses all stop by the park.
