General Information
The Art Museum Steps, known more commonly as the ‘Rocky Steps’ are the 72 steps that lead up to the Philadelphia Art Museum in the city of Philadelphia, USA. The steps have become known as the ‘Rocky Steps’ due to the hit 1976 boxing film ‘Rocky’, in which the boxer Rocky Balboa climbs up the steps as part of his training. The steps have since become famous, with fans of the film recreating the scene which was a metaphor for an underdog or an everyman rising to a challenge.
