The Art Gallery of Western Australia is an art gallery that is part of the Perth Cultural Centre, in Perth, Australia. The gallery was established in 1895 and is managed by the government. The gallery holds over 17,000 works of art in its collection with 3000 indigenous works. The gallery hosts different exhibitions throughout the year.
If you are travelling by car, parking is available at the Perth Cultural Centre precinct. The closest train and underground station is ‘Perth’ station which is a couple of minutes walk away. The ‘Blue CAT’ bus runs closest to the gallery but the ‘Wellington St’ stop is the best stop for the gallery, it is accessed by the 41, 42, 48, 55, 60, 66, 67, 68 and 950 buses.
Opening Times and Admission
The gallery is open six days a week, Wednesday to Monday 10am-5pm with Tuesdays being the weekly day of closure. The gallery is free to visit. There are facilities to eat and drink at the gallery.
