The Allianz Arena is a football stadium and concert venue in Munich, Germany. The current tenants of the stadium are football club Bayern Munich. The stadium has a capacity of 75000, it was opened in 2005 and is named after the stadium's sponsor, Allianz. The stadium is bowl-shaped with three tiers, it is known for its exterior plastic ETFE plastic panels that light up at night and can change colour. The stadium has hosted some major events during its short time of existence these include the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 UEFA Champions League Final.
By car, use the A9 or A99 motorways. By metro use line 6 and get off at Fröttmaning, which is a purpose-built metro station for the stadium.
Opening Times and Admission
The best way to attend the stadium is by going to a Bayern Munich match, Bayern plays at the stadium a minimum of 19 times from August to May, tickets are available to purchase on the clubs website. The other option for seeing the stadium is by going on a stadium tour, these run every day between 10am-6pm, tours cost 19 euros for adults and last 60 minutes.
