The cheapest way to travel on the tube is to either use an oyster card or a contactless bank card, these will give you savings of more than half the price of a cash payment. Prices vary depending on the time of day and what zones you are travelling through. Tube fairs are normally capped to a maximum daily amount and are also capped at a maximum weekly spend.

Remember to scan your card on the way out, even if the gate is open as this will close your journey and tell London transport you've left the system and therefore won't be penalized.
